Eagles & Crocus

Toni and I saw some strange birds in the backyard, we though they were turkeys. but when they flew off we realized they were young eagles. They live in a nest across the brook from our backyard. We'll keep our cameras at the ready.

The crocus are blooming. There is hope for spring.

Susan & Kevin

Our cousins from North Carolina Susan & Kevin stayed with us on their way to marching in the St Patrick's parade in NYC. They make the trip to the parade every year. Sue and I have always been close since we were children and Kevin was an usher at our wedding. Their beautiful daughter Jen is my goddaughter.

So, we had a great time talking, drinking & laughing. We gave them the nostalgic tour of Wurtsboro,the Hills & Masten Lake. Sue spent most of her summers in Wurtsboro Hills at her grandmother's house. My parents were so glad to see them. Thanks guys for making the time to visit us!

Conor Freaney Kilgore

Our friends Karen & Jim became first time grandparents this week. Conor's parents Chrissy & Ron took a couple of days to come up with his name. I guess they wanted a name that sounded Italian.
Conor is a very lucky boy to hook up with such a wonderful family.

Trecherous Snow Storm

This morning there was a bad accident down the road from us on Rt. 17 by Rt. 209
An oil truck overturned, one car went off the road and two tractor trailers jackknifed. The Wurtsboro Mountain is always dangerous in the winter

Lauren & Scott

Friday night we had a lovely dinner at our friends Jo Ann & Tom's house in Oakland.
We got to meet their daughter, Lauren's fiance Scott.He's such a nice guy and they make a beautiful couple. I first saw Lauren when she was one day old in the hospital. She's always been the sweetest child. Lauren & Scott are getting married October 17th. It's going to be a beautiful wedding.We also love their adorable dog Pino. We'll have to arrange a play date for Pino & Spencer sometime soon
